I, Gurpreet Dhindsa, am a paragliding instructor and a competition pilot. I am running a paragliding school called PG-Gurukul. I am also competing in paragliding international competitions and represented India in:

1. Paragliding World Championship, Montelagre, Portugal, July 2003.
2. Paragliding Asian Championship, Hadong, South Korea, May 2004.
3. Also participated in three pre world cup/ Indian opens.
4. Slovenian open 2006
5. Qualified for paragliding world championship to be held in feb 2007 in Australia.

I would like to introduce the idea of Advertising on paragliders. A paraglider is about 300sq ft flying billboard that attracts people's attention and creates a lasting image on the minds. Flying is age old fascination of human kind and no one can resist stopping and watching gliders fly.

I assure you the revenue thus generated will be spent on sport; thus indirectly, you are promoting the sport while getting full value in return.

I have already received some media coverage (details attached) on print and electronic media. A program is currently running on channel V (on the run) giving us about 20mins of coverage. Had this coverage been shot on gliders bearing your Logo it would have already made excellent return on your investment. I foresee much more media interest.

I am sure you will see value in having your logos on my gliders, helmet and flying suit.

My glider, during Asian Paragliding Championship in Hadong, South Korea. Notice the empty advertising space.

Picture of some Gliders bearing Logos of sponsors/advertisers
during Paragliding World championship and Asian Champions. These well known brands feels its worthwhile to sponsor / advertise with paragliders.

Proposal:

Number of Gliders available Total = 4
One Competition wing (turquoise and white top surface, plain white under surface)
Two training wings, one with red/white top and white under surface Other mostly white on top and bottom with red leading edge on top,
One tandem wing used to give joy rides (much photographed) green top surface white under surface.
Flying suit
One, grey black, simple design lot of place for logos.

Helmet

One, grey carbon fiber looks, full face.

Cost (of advertising or sponsorship amount) Rs 5.0lacs per annum with minimum two year contract.

Media coverage already received

  1. Coverage in almost all local newspapers, English and vernacular, mostly with pictures
  2. 5 mins on star news during pre world cup.
  3. 30 mins live interview on DD Jallandhar
  4. 15mins program on DD sport with 3 mins personal interview
  5. 15 minutes program on Channel V , part of V on the run series currently running, to be repeated.
  6. Article in India today traveler with pictures.
  7. Article in 'Gateway', cover story.

This coverage has been achieved without active persuasion and has lot of room for improvement, particularly with participation in international competitions.

I am also working on making a paragliding adventure video that I am sure will get good circulation in India and international electronic media as there is lot of fascination about paragliding in Himalayas.

I am also webmaster for: www.pgindia.net and www.activeholidaysabroad.com and can use these media to give you further mileage.
